Diagnosis. Arista-like stylus as long as head width. Thorax with 5 acr. Legs mainly yellow except fore coxa black basally, mid and hind coxae black. Cercus pale except black apical ring, ribbon banding, with 4 long thin black marginal bristles at apical quarter ventrally, with 4 thick, black apical bristles with truncate apex from inner side.
Description. Male ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1–4. 1 ). Body length 2.8 mm, wing length 2.7 mm. Head brightly metallic green with pale grey pollinosity. Hairs and bristles on head black except middle and lower postocular bristles including posteroventral hairs pale, 1 long strong vt. Ocellar tubercle with 2 long strong oc and 2 posterior hairs. Antenna dark brown; postpedicel subtriangular, blunt at tip, 0.8 times as long as wide; pedicel rounded with circlet of short weak blackish apical bristles; arista-like stylus dorsal, black, nearly bare, as long as head, basal segment less than 0.1 times as long as apical segment. Proboscis yellow with pale hairs; palpus brown with pale apical bristles. Thorax brightly metallic green with pale grey pollinosity. Hairs and bristles on thorax black; 5 dc, of which only posterior 2 strong; 5 biseriate long bristle-like acr; 2 sc, lateral pair short, median pair half as long as scutum. Legs mainly yellow except fore coxa black basally, mid and hind coxae black. Hairs and bristles on legs mainly black except bristles on coxae pale, ventral hairs and bristles on femora pale. Fore coxa with row of dense spinous pale dorsal bristles, mid coxa with 2 long spinous pale outer bristles at middle and cluster of spinous pale bristles; hind coxa with 1 outer bristle at middle. Fore femur with 3 spinous pale ventral bristles near base; mid femur with row of 5 short blackish spinous pv; hind femur with 1 preapical pv. Tibiae without distinct bristles except mid tibia with 2 apical bristles, hind tibia with 3 apical bristles. Relative length ratio of tibiae and tarsomeres: LI 12.5: 3.6:?:?:?:?; LII 12.0: 15.0: 3.6: 2.2: 1.2: 1.0; LIII 22.5: 11.0: 4.5: 2.5: 1.5: 1.0. Wing hyaline, veins dark brown. Crossvein m-cu straight, CuAx ratio 1.2. Squama pale with long pale hairs. Halter pale. Abdomen curved downward, pale metallic green with thin pale gray pollinosity. Hairs and bristles on abdomen black. Hypopygium ( Fig. 13 View FIGURES 13–15 ): Epandrium longer than wide in lateral view; epandrial lobe hidden within epandrium. Surstylus large, square, with 2 short, weak apical bristles and 1 outer bristle. Cercus pale except black apical ring, ribbon banding, with pale marginal bristles dorsally and ventrally at basal 1/4, with sparse marginal bristles ventrally at basal 1/4 to apical 1/4, with 4 long thin black marginal bristles at apical 1/4 ventrally, with 4 thick, black apical bristles with truncate apex. Hypandrium simple; phallus almost hidden in hypandrium, simple.
Female. Unknown.
Type material. HOLOTYPE ♂, labelled: China. Tibet: Lhasa, Lhunzhub, Kazi , Zhamalong [N29°90′55″ E91°16′08″], 4344 m, 2013. VII.17, sweep nets, Xiaoyan Liu (CAU).
Remarks. The type was collected on a broad-leaf plant alongside the Yamdrok Lake. The new species is similar to A. longus Li, Li & Yang, 2013 distributed in Vietnam. The Hypopygium of these two species are very similar, but the new species may be separated from the latter by the number of acr and the color of the coxae. In A. longus , there are 4 pairs of acr and the mid and hind coxae are wholly yellow ( Li et al. 2013).
Distribution. China (Tibet).
Etymology. The species is named for the black apical ring of the cercus.
