Cataglyphis bicolour var. laevior , 1925, p. 265 (w.) Algeria. Palaearctic.

Diagnosis

Worker. Bicoloured species with head, mesosoma, and petiole red, gaster, and legs black; head clearly longer than broad; propodeum slightly low and flat; petiole a massive, rounded node; mesosoma covered with dense appressed white pubescence; general appearance dull except shining gaster.

Material examined. One site: 3.

Geographic range. Described from Algeria, this species is widespread on the Arabian Peninsula ( Collingwood 1985; Collingwood and Agosti 1996; Collingwood et al. 2011).
