Diagnosis

Omorgus persuberosus is similar in appearance to O. suberosus and O. triestinae , but is usually larger than the latter two species. In addition, O. persuberosus have a distinct glabrous area on the inner ventral surface of the mesotibiae, which is either reduced or absent in the other two species ( Figures 5d and 6d ).

Geographic distribution

Omorgus persuberosus is widespread across South America ( Vaurie 1955, 1962; Scholtz 1990; Smith 2017). In Brazil is has been recorded across the Amazonia (AC, PA), Cerrado (MG, DF, TO, MS, SP, GO), Caatinga (PI), Atlantic Forest (PB, SP, RJ, MG, ES, PR, SC, RS) and Pampa (RS) biomes ( Figure 10 ).
