1 male. Holotype: CHINA: Hubei: male, Dongxi Village, Jiuhu Town, Shennongjia Forest District , 600 m, 3 August 1998, Chan-Juan Ye leg . ( IZCAS).
Diagnosis

Description
Male. General: body length 17.9 mm; overall length including tegmen 29.1 mm; pronotum length × width 8.7 × 5.5 mm; tegmen length: 25.8 mm. Body chestnut, weakly pubescent ( Figure 2e–f View Figure 2 ). Head: brown; eyes very plump, interocular space moderate, much narrower than the distance between antennal sockets, ocelli yellow, moderate and distinct, ocelli ridge not very distinct, straight; face wrinkled; antennae yellowish brown, basal segments dark brown, antennae pectinate and pubescent from the ninth antenomere ( Figures 3h View Figure 3 , 8i View Figure 8 ); clypeus small, distinct, anteclypeus yellow, narrow, postclypeus brown, obviously divided into left and right parts; labrum transverse, brownish yellow, maxillary and labial palpi brown with apex yellow ( Figure 3h View Figure 3 ). Pronotum: unicoloured chestnut, thickened; surface heavily punctate, and covered with very short and fine yellow pubescence ( Figure 3l View Figure 3 ); form nearly octagonal, apex truncated, arched, lateral margins of anterior oblique, forming round angles anteriorly with the lateral margins, lateral margins nearly parallel, hind margin protruding, hind apex slightly and narrowly truncated ( Figure 3g View Figure 3 ). Tegmina and wings: Tegmina unicoloured, chestnut, thickened; Sc swelling distinct, concave ( Figure 3i View Figure 3 ). Wings transparent, with brown venation; R area brown. Venation as Figure 10c View Figure 10 , tegmen with Sc branched from middle to the edge, R largely occupied about 1/3 of the tegmen width, with about nine branches, M branched medially, CuA generally divides into two groups; wing with a single and straight Sc, RA simple, RP with about four branches, M slender, straight, branched at the apex, CuA straight, with about 11 straight, parallel branches. Legs: light brown with yellowish colouration, slightly pubescent; front femur type C 1, front tibia with 10 spines ( Figure 8j View Figure 8 ); spines on the legs short, light brown with apex reddish brown ( Figure 8h View Figure 8 ); arolia absent ( Figure 3t View Figure 3 ). Abdomen: brown with yellowish colouration, smooth, slightly pubescent ( Figure 8f View Figure 8 ). Supra-anal plate pubescent, transparent, strongly protruded, apex concave, two lobes rounded; two median sclerites brown, large, L-shaped; cerci long, brown with basal portion yellow, basal segment long, the largest, internal sides concave, the rest of segments short, but becoming larger towards the apex ( Figure 8a View Figure 8 ). Subgenital plate nearly trapezoidal, but M-shaped after dissecting, hind margin with fine and short pubescence; styli very short, black, left lighter than the right ( Figure 8b View Figure 8 ). Genitalia: well sclerotised ( Figure 8c View Figure 8 ). Left phallomere: L1 irregular, with a round anterior part, left with a long process, curved ventrally, posterior part membranous; L2 bifurcate into two parts, the left part slender, extending towards L3, the right part short, forming a flat and wide slice; L3 robust, distal portion strongly curved and hooked ( Figure 8k View Figure 8 ); L4M large, round, flat, half coloured half hyaline, L4N simple; L8 large, consisting of two flat sclerites, the two overlapping, L7 elongate, pubescent membrane surrounding L8 and L7. Right phallomere: large, hollow, plump; R1M hollow, with hind part hyaline, slightly enlarged, R2 divided into three hollow chunks, outer one much larger than the inner two, R3 concave, transverse ( Figure 8d–e View Figure 8 ).

Distribution
China: Hubei.
Etymology
The species name ‘ impubis ’ refers to the pronotum and tegmina lacking any distinct long setae or pubescence visible to the naked eye.
Natural history
Little is known about this species except that the holotype was attracted by the light.
