Type material. Holotype ɗ ( MNHN): KENYA - labeled “Kakamega equatorial forest, 11.x.2002, S. Prigent”. Etymology. From the Swahili word, meaning seta, referring to the fore tarsomere V with a long seta apically.
Diagnosis. Fore tarsomere V with 1 long seta (empodium ɗ, Fig. 13 View FIGURES 12 – 17 ) apically; hind femur with 2 rows of slightness setae on antero- and posteroventral surface; aedeagal median rod strongly sclerotized, curved to Ushaped, with a pair of elongated projections apically ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 9 – 11 ); paramere curved lobe-shaped, slightly scerotized, lacking sensilla ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 9 – 11 ).
Description. Male: Eyes red-brown. Ocellar triangle black. Frons dark brown on upper 1/2, yellow brown on lower 1/2, with dense, thick setae medially. Fronto-orbital plate brown. Pedicel and first flagellomere almost yellow; arista plumose, not expanded apically. Face brown. Clypeus medially white-yellow, laterally brown. Gena and postgena brown. Palpus brown basally, grey-yellow distally. Thorax orange-yellow, with dark brown patches and pollinose pattern. Scutellum orange-yellow, brown at tip. Legs yellow except for fore femur brownish; mid femur with 1 row of slightness setae on basal part of anteroventral surface. Abdominal tergite I+II yellow, sublaterally with black patches; other tergites nearly entirely black. Sternites III to VI slightly longer than respective width. Male terminalia: Epandrium mid-dorsally constricted, laterally broadened, with dense setae ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 9 – 11 ). Surstylus with a few setae and approximately 12 prensisetae on ventral margin to inner surface ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 9 – 11 ). Vertical process of gonopods symmetrical, slightly sclerotized ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 9 – 11 ).
Measurements. BL = 2.64 mm in the holotype; ThL = 1.20 mm; WL = 2.40 mm; WW = 1.06 mm. Indices: arb = 3–4/2–3, avd = 0.55, adf = 1.15, flw = 1.25, FW/HW = 0.45, ch/o = 0.07, prorb = 0.90, rcorb = 0.50, vb = 0.45, dcl = 0.50, presctl = 0.65, sctl = 1.00, sterno = 1.10, orbito = 1.85, dcp = 0.25, sctlp = 1.20, C = 2.27, 4c = 1.29, 4v = 2.35, 5x = 1.00, ac = 3.14, M = 0.53, C3F = 0.63.
