Etymology. The specific name is a noun in apposition taken from the type locality.
Diagnosis. The male of Thymoites piratini new species differs from those of the other species by the pointed distal area of the carapace ( Figs. 37, 38 View FIGURES 36 – 40 , 61–66 View FIGURES 61 – 66 ) and the palp with cymbium with pointed apex ( Fig. 36 View FIGURES 36 – 40 , 68–70 View FIGURES 67 – 72 ).The female of Thymoites piratini new species is close to Thymoites ilhabela new species, but differs by the shorter fertilization ducts ( Fig. 40 View FIGURES 36 – 40 ) and the shape of copulatory ducts ( Figs. 39, 40 View FIGURES 36 – 40 ).
Description. Male holotype (from Fazenda Santa Izabel, MCN 52007): Total length 1.28. Carapace length 0.77, width 0.52. Clypeus height 0.25. Sternum length 0.31, width 0.33. Abdomen length 0.56, width 0.50, height 0.52. Leg formula I/IV/II/III; segment length (I/II/III/IV): femora 0.54/0.44/0.37/0.50; patellae + tibiae 0.60/0.44/ 0.37/0.52; metatarsi + tarsi 0.69/0.60/0.50/0.58; total 1.83/1.48/1.24/1.60. Carapace ( Figs. 61 View FIGURES 61 – 66 ) red brown, anteriorly dark brown ( Fig. 37 View FIGURES 36 – 40 ), with a long projection anteriorly and a tubercle between median eyes ( Figs. 37, 38 View FIGURES 36 – 40 , 61–66 View FIGURES 61 – 66 ). Eyes ( Figs. 61–66 View FIGURES 61 – 66 ) with dark borders. AME and PME smaller than the other eyes. Endites and chelicerae red brown. Sternum red brown, darkened borders. Legs ( Fig. 67 View FIGURES 67 – 72 ) red brown. Abdomen ( Fig. 37 View FIGURES 36 – 40 ) oval, pale yellow, posteriorly dark brown; venter dark brown. Spinnerets yellow brown. Palp with cymbium pointed ( Figs 68–70 View FIGURES 67 – 72 ), conductor longer and thin ( Fig. 36 View FIGURES 36 – 40 ).
Female paratype (same locality as male, MCN 52009): Total length 1.38. Carapace length 0.65, width 0.56. Clypeus height 0.16. Sternum length 0.35, width 0.37. Abdomen length 0.84, width 0.77, height 0.79. Leg formula I/IV/II/III; segment length (I/II/III/IV): femora 0.54/0.44/0.37/0.54; patellae + tibiae 0.56/0.44/0.37/0.52; metatarsi + tarsi 0.67/0.54/0.52/0.60; total 1.77/1.42/1.26/1.66. Carapace red brown, anteriorly dark brown. Eyes as in male. Endites and chelicerae dark red brown. Sternum red brown, darkened borders. Legs red brown. Abdomen pale yellow, posteriorly dark brown; venter dark brown. Spinnerets yellow brown. Epigynum ( Figs. 71, 72 View FIGURES 67 – 72 ) with elongated spermathecae, fertilization ducts shorter and copulatory ducts sinuous ( Figs. 39, 40 View FIGURES 36 – 40 ).
