Diagnosis of larva and adults. Character states of genus Brachypodopsis . Fourth leg of adult males with segments unmodified.

Species included. Many species listed by K.O. Viets (1987), Smit & Pešić (2010), and Pešić et al. (2012) under Axonopsis (Brachypodopsis) . There are numerous undescribed species of Brachypodopsis (s. s.) from North America in the Canadian National Collection of Insects and Arachnids.
