Material examined. 1 ov. female, Ilha de Santa Bárbara (17°57’49”S 38°41’53”W), coll. G.O. Soledade, 24.viii.2013, shallow subtidal (~ 1 m), on algae, UESC 1566.
Distribution. Western Atlantic—North Carolina, Florida, West Indies, Venezuela, and Brazil (Paraíba to Rio de Janeiro) ( Ramos-Porto & Coelho 1993, as Hippolyte curacaoense Schmitt, 1924 ; Udekem d’Acoz 1997, as H. obliquimanus ).
