Material examined. Tamil Nadu: AM P 100651, 1 male (TL 73 mm), 1 female (TL 80 mm), off Tuticorin, commercial trawl, 22 March 2017 ; ZRC, 2 males (TL 68–76 mm), 4 females (TL 77–90 mm), off Tuticorin, commercial trawl, 22 March 2017.
Remarks. Specimens in the present series agree well with preVious accounts of Carinosquilla multicarinata (Kemp 1913; Ahyong & Moosa 2004; Ahyong et al. 2008). The TL 73 mm male (AM P 100651) is atypical in haVing six rather than fiVe teeth on the dactylus of one of the raptorial claws.
Distribution. Southeastern India to the Andaman Sea, Indonesia, the South China Sea, China, Taiwan and Japan; 8–79 m (Ahyong 2016).
