27. Pediobius bethylicidus Kerrich, 1973 View in CoL

( Fig. 24 View FIGURE 24 )

Pediobius bethylicidus, Kerrich, 1973: 162 View in CoL ; ♀. Holotype ♀, BMNH, not examined.

Diagnosis. Coxae and femora dark green, femora often pale apically; tibiae paletestaceous ( Figs 24 View FIGURE 24 d–f). Antenna short and stout, with scape pale testaceous and flagellum pale brown ( Fig. 24 View FIGURE 24 c). Space between notaular depressions very narrow ( Figs 24 View FIGURE 24 a–b). Scutellum strongly longitudinally reticulate anteriorly and coarsely reticulate posteriorly, and longitudinal reticulation along mid line dense ( Figs 24 View FIGURE 24 a–b). Female gaster broad-ovate, with Gt1 almost occupying the basal 2/3 length.

Material examined. CHINA, Guangdong: 2♀, Guangzhou, Guangzhou Medicine School , 03.X.2014, coll. Hai-Yun Pan ; Hainan: 1♀, Lingshui, Diaoluo Mountains , 15.IV.1984, coll. Chang-Fang Li ; Yunnan: 2♀, Xishuangbanna , 03.VII.2014, coll. Xiu-Wei Liu . Determined specimens compared ( ANIC): 2♀, PAKISTAN Nawabshah , 10.I.1987, ex. the cocoons of Goniozus sp. ( Hymenoptera : Bethylidae ), det. Bouček.

Biology. Pediobius bethylicidus was recorded as secondary parasitoids of Goniczus sp. ( Hymenoptera : Bethylidae ), Parasierola sp. ( Hymenoptera : Bethylidae ), and Perisierola sp. ( Hymenoptera : Bethylidae ) ( Noyes 2016).

Distribution in China. Guangdong, Hainan, Yunnan.

Remarks. Newly recorded from China. Most females of P. bethylicidus in IZCAS have Gt1 not occupying twothirds length of gaster but only slightly exceeding half length of gaster, which is probably because Chinese specimens were collected by Malaise traps (see remarks under P. tortricida ). This species seems to be closely related to P. foveolatus by similar mesosoma sculpture. Considering the pale brown stout antenna and pale brown tibiae of P. bethylicidus ( Figs 24 View FIGURE 24 c–f), we are not certain if they can be assigned to the same species group. See also remarks under P. anomalus and P. foveolatus .
