Material examined. Two males (slide no. 2011-13-3 /4), two females (slide no. 2011-19-1 and 2011-12-1), river, Qingyan (106°41′26″E, 26°19′41″N), Guiyang , Guizhou Province, 18 April 2011 GoogleMaps , coll. Ze-Yu Wang. One female, river, Guiyang , Guizhou Province, 27 August 1992, coll. Dao-Chao Jin.

Description. Male (n = 2) Idiosoma L 552–605, W 436–460 ( Figs 1–2 View Figs 1–6 ); A1 setae broadened; coxae well-developed, occupying about 1/2 ventral surface, and with fine and dense reticular decorations; posterior margin Cx I medially tongue shaped, lateral apodemes of ACG well-developed and sickle-shaped; ACG W 250–271, medial suture of ACG L 120–136, distance from anterior tip of Cx I to median posterior edge of ACG 214–224; interior margin of PCG reduced to median angle, median distance of PCG narrow, 39–42, Cx III W 341–370; genital plates with rounded anterior and strong concave posterior edge, genital field L115–121, W139–142, three pairs of Ac arranged in arc, Ac1 L 32–35, Ac2 L 39–41, Ac3 L 27–30; genital pore L 60–65; V1 fused to V2; infracapitulum L 140–149 ( Fig. 6 View Figs 1–6 ); chelicera long and slender, cheliceral claw L 70–76, basal segment L 174–189, ratio of basal segment L to claw 2.4–2.5 ( Fig. 5 View Figs 1–6 ); palp total L 242–253 ( Fig. 4 View Figs 1–6 ), dorsal L, H, L/H and Lp of palp segments: P-I: 31–33, 17–18, 1.7–1.8, 12.8–13.0; P-II: 54–57, 27–29, 2.0–2.0, 22.3–22.5; P-III: 58–60, 29–30, 2.0–2.0, 23.7–23.8; P-IV: 76–79, 21–27, 2.8–3.6, 31.2–31.2; P-V: 23–24, 10–11, 2.3–2.4, 9.8–9.8; P-I long. P-IV with two closely and same hair-like ventral setae beyond P-IV, ventral margin of P-IV x:y:z = 21:3:7, latero-ventral seta slightly beyond P-IV, and with lateral flanges distally, the dorsal and lateral of P-IV with dense hair-like setae; P-V with one hair-like ventral setae; I-L-5 dorsal L 136–146, ventral L 109–116, maximal H 33–35, ratio of dorsal L to maximal H 4.1–4.2; S-1 close to S-2, but slightly heteromorphic; S-1 anterior sharp, S-2 stick shaped, L 40–46, W 5–6, S-1 L40–43, W5–6; I-L-6 L102–108, maximal H 30–34 and minimal H 25–28; ratio of L of I-L-5 to L of I-L-6 almost 1.3–1.4; claws of legs with a ventral clawlet ( Fig. 3 View Figs 1–6 ).

Distribution. China (Guizhou).

Remarks. The species is originaly named as Atractides (Atractides) latisetus Jin, 1997, based on a single female from Huaxi River, Guiyang, Guizhou Province, China. It is preoccupied by Atractides latisetus (Vites, 1916) and was erected as Atractides ( Tympanomegapus ) huaxiensis by Yi and Jin (2010). This is the first description to the male of this species.
