Acupalpus exiguus Dejean, 1829: 456 View in CoL .
The specimen here designated as lectotype is a female bearing a white label with “ exiguus mihi in Gallia merid.” (these words are followed by an illegible word) and a red label “ Lectotype of Acupalpus exiguus Dejean, 1829 desig. by J. Serrano”.
The original material was diverse. Of these beetles I have selected that one collected in South France. It shows a dorsal dark colouration including the appendages, a rather small body size (2.7 mm), the pronotum with rounded posterior angles, etc. ( Jeannel, 1942; Wrase, 2004, 2011). These characters separate this species from A. luteatus (Duftschmid, 1812) and A. dubius Schilsky, 1888 .
The species is found from West Siberia and Kazakhstan to West France ( Jaeger & Kataev, 2017), as noted by Dejean (1829).
