Gelastocoris flavus ; Champion (1901: 349; partim; non (Guérin-Méneville, 1835)).

Gelastocoris major Montandon, 1910: 2 .— Types or a type locality were not specified in the description of the species. It was probably described based on specimens from Costa Rica previously misidentified by Montandon and Champion as G. flavus (Guérin-Méneville, 1835) and deposited in the collection of the former (Champion 1901, Montandon 1910). Distribution. Chile ( Todd 1957); Colombia ( Melin 1929); Costa Rica (Champion 1901); Ecuador ( Melin 1929); Panama (Champion 1901); Venezuela ( Todd 1957).

Note. Melin (1929) reported the species (as G. andinus ) from Mexico and Brazil. However, considering its known distribution, these records are questionable and not included above.
