Distribution: Species endemic to Brazil, occurring in all states of the South and Southeast regions and Bahia ( Iganci & Morim 2012; Flora of Brazil 2020). In ParNa Iguaçu it was collected only in the area of Foz do Iguaçu.

Reproductive period: According to Iganci & Morim (2012), it flowers from October to April and bears fruit the whole year. In ParNa Iguaçu it was collected with flowers in November.

Diagnostic characteristics: Trees with bipinnate leaves recognized by the patelliform foliar nectaries in all leaflet pairs, racemose inflorescences, whitish stamens and helical legume fruits with bicolorous seeds.

Conservation: Native-NE.
