Distribution: It occurs from Central America to Argentina ( Vanni 2001); in Brazil it occurs in states of the South, Southeast, Northeast and Central-west regions ( Flora do Brasil 2020). In ParNa Iguaçu it has been collected but without locality data.
Reproductive period: It flowers and fruits throughout the year ( Lima et al. 2014). In ParNa Iguaçu it was collected with flowers and fruits in May.
Diagnostic characteristics: Prostrate subshrubs with pinnate, trifoliolate leaves, central spots on the adaxial surface of the leaflets, flowers more than 7 mm long and triangular articles aid in the identification of D. uncinatum .
