Distribution: Widely distributed in the Neotropics ( Vanni 2001); in Brazil it occurs throughout the country ( Flora do Brasil 2020). In ParNa Iguaçu it occurs in the Foz do Iguaçu area and in Santa Tereza do Oeste in the Céu Azul area.

Reproductive period: It flowers and fruits throughout the year ( Lima et al. 2014). In ParNa Iguaçu it was found in flower in January and December.

Diagnostic characteristics: Prostrate subshrubs with pinnate, trifoliolate leaves, stipules fused together, lilac flowers and quadrangular articles.

Conservation: Native-NE.
