Distribution: Species endemic to the southern region of South America, in Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay ( Silva 2010). In Brazil it occurs in the South region, in São Paulo and Minas Gerais in the Southeast region and in Mato Grosso do Sul ( Flora do Brasil 2020). In ParNa Iguaçu it occurs in the Foz do Iguaçu area.
Reproductive period: According to Silva (2010) it is found with flowers and fruit in January, May, October to December and with fruit from February to June and August. In ParNa Iguaçu it was found in flower in December and fruit in February.
Diagnostic characteristics: Trees with pinnate leaves recognized by their paniculate inflorescences, young fruit with velutinous, dark brown to greenish-brown trichomes, and when mature, trichomes yellowish to orangish or ferruginous.
Conservation: Native-NE.
