Distribution: It occurs from the United States to Argentina ( Williams & Clements 1990) and in all states of all regions in Brazil. In ParNa Iguaçu it occurs in the Foz do Iguaçu area.
Reproductive period: In ParNa Iguaçu it was found in flower in March and October.
Diagnostic characteristics: The twining, herbaceous habit, pinnate, trifoliolate leaves, resupinate flowers and campanulate calyx help in recognizing this species.
Conservation: Native-NE.
