Distribution: It occurs in Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay, and in Brazil it occurs in the South region and in the state of São Paulo in the Southeast region ( Lima & Lima 1984; Flora do Brasil 2020). In ParNa Iguaçu it occurs in the Céu Azul and Foz do Iguaçu areas.

Reproductive period: In ParNa Iguaçu it was found in flower in November, in fruit in February, March and from May to July.

Diagnostic characteristics: Trees with bipinnate leaves easily recognized by having leaflets with one to three secondary veins, spicate inflorescences and legumes with wavy valves. In ParNa Iguaçu, when sterile it can be confused with Senegalia polyphylla , but is differentiated by its sessile, elongate nectary (vs. sessile, concave nectary) and leaflets with 3 veins (vs. 1 vein).

Conservation: Native-NE.
