Distribution: It occurs in Argentina and Paraguay ( Barneby 1991); in Brazil it occurs throughout the country except in the state of Rio Grande do Sul ( Flora do Brasil 2020). In ParNa Iguaçu it occurs in the Foz do Iguaçu area.

Reproductive period: In ParNa Iguaçu it was found in flower in May and October and in fruit in October and December.

Diagnostic characteristics: Shrubs with bipinnate leaves easily recognized by the prickles between each pair of pinnae, stamens of a pinkish color and fruits with brown trichomes.

Conservation: Native-NE.
