Distribution: In Brazil it occurs in the South, Southeast and Northeast regions from Bahia to Rio Grande do Sul ( Flora do Brasil 2020). In ParNa Iguaçu it occurs in the Céu Azul and Foz do Iguaçu areas.
Reproductive period: According to Sartori & Tozzi (1998) it is found with flowers and frutis from February to May, and only with fruits from March to December. In ParNa Iguaçu it was found in flower in March and in fruit in May.
Diagnostic characteristics: Trees with pinnate leaves recognized by the rectilinear, nodal prickles up to 2 cm long and by the falciform wing of the fruit.
Conservation: Native-LC.
