Distribution: In Brazil it occurs almost throughout the country, except in some states in the Northeast region ( Flora do Brasil 2020). In ParNa Iguaçu it occurs in all areas.

Reproductive period: It flowers all year, fruits between January and Februrary ( Possette & Rodrigues 2010). In ParNa Iguaçu it was found in flower in October and November, in fruit in February.

Diagnostic characteristics: Trees with pinnate leaves easily confused with I. striata , but differentiated by nectaries more than 1.5 mm diam and without striations on the calyx (vs. foliar nectaries with up to 1.1 mm diam and striations on the calyx in I. striata ).

Conservation: Native-NE.
