Distribution: It occurs from Mexico to Argentina ( Rico-Arce 2007); in Brazil it occurs in states of all regions ( Flora do Brasil 2020). In ParNa Iguaçu it occurs in the Foz do Iguaçu area.
Reproductive period: According to Barros & Morim (2014) it flowers from October to August and fruits from March to December. In ParNa Iguaçu it was found in flower in December and in fruit in May and July.
Diagnostic characteristics: Lianas with bipinnate leaves recognized by the prickles in trios in the nodal region, foliar nectary elevated, concave and sessile, inflorescences in glomerules and sessile flowers.
Conservation: Native-NE.
