Distribution: The species is endemic to Brazil and occurs only in the state of Paraná (Terra & Garcia 2019). In ParNa Iguaçu it occurs only in the Capanema area.
Reproductive period: According to Terra & Garcia (2019) it flowers and fruits in October. In ParNa Iguaçu it was collected with fruits in October.
Diagnostic characteristics: The species is similar to Senegalia velutina in its lianascent habit, bipinnate leaves with spicate inflorescences and nectaries only on the petiole, yet it can be differentiated by its oblong, verruciform nectaries (vs. obovate, verruciform in S. velutina ) and inflorescences 8–10 cm long (vs. 3–4 cm long).
Conservation: Native-NE.
