Distribution: It occurs from Venezuela to southern Brazil ( Queiroz 2009) and in Brazil it occurs in states of all regions, though in the South only in the state of Paraná and in the North only in the state of Tocantins ( Flora do Brasil 2020). In ParNa Iguaçu it occurs in the Foz do Iguaçu and Céu Azul areas.
Reproductive period: In ParNa Iguaçu it was found in flower in February and March.
Diagnostic characteristics: The genus is recognized by its androecium with only seven fertile stamens and by the indehiscent fruit, S. macranthera can be differentiated from the other species by its arboreal habit and pinnate leaves with only two pairs of leaflets.
Conservation: Native-NE.
