Distribution: It occurs in Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay ( Rico-Arce 2007); in Brazil it occurs in the South, Southeast and Northeast regions, from the state of Pernambuco to Rio Grande do Sul ( Flora do Brasil 2020). In ParNa Iguaçu it occurs in all areas.
Reproductive period: According to Barros & Morim (2014) it flowers from October to April and fruits from December to August. In ParNa Iguaçu it was found in flower in April and October to December and in fruit in April.
Diagnostic characteristics: Lianas with bipinnate leaves recognized by the prickles, sessile, oblong, extrafloral nectaries and spicate inflorescences.
Conservation: Native-NE.
