The female of this species has yellowish/orange pilosity on mesoscutum, scutellum and T1. T2 and T3 have a basal band of white pilosity. T4 with mostly black pilosity, with an apical tuft of white pilosity on each side ( Urban 1998b). The male has clypeus, labrum and ventral side of scape yellow. The clypeus has two small black spots beside the tentorial foveae. Mesosoma and T1 with orange pilosity. T2 and T3 with a basal band of white pilosity. T4 with mostly with black pilosity, but some exemplars can exhibit some white hairs intermixed ( Urban 1998b).

In Chile, this species is found in Antofagasta, Atacama, Coquimbo, Aconcagua and Santiago ( Urban, 1998b) . In Argentina occurs in Salta, Catamarca, La Rioja, Buenos Aires, Mendoza, La Pampa and Río Negro ( Jörgensen 1912; Urban 1998b).

(Capparaceae) , Oxybaphus ovatus (Ruiz & Pavón) (Nyctaginaceae) ( Jörgensen 1909, 1912); Grindelia pulchella , Senecio pinnatus Poir. (Asteraceae) and Cercidium praecox (Ruiz & Pavón) (Caesalpinaceae) ( Jörgensen 1912) from Argentina. In Chile visits Dolia divaricata (Lindl.) Hook. & Arn. ex Wettstein , Lycium chilense Miers ex Bertero , Solanum maritimum Meyen ex Nees (Solanaceae) , Cristaria glaucophylla Cav. (Malvaceae) , Mesembriantemum crystallinum L. ( Aizoaceae ), Frankenia salina (Molina) (Frankeniaceae) , Chuquiraga oppositifolia D. Don (Asteraceae) , Verbena litoralis (Verbenaceae) , Prosopis chilensis (Mol.) (Fabaceae) , Sambucus nigra L. ( Caprifoliaceae ), Parkinsonia aculeata L. ( Caesalpiniaceae ), Scabiosa atropurpurea L. ( Dipsacaceae ) and Geranium sp. (Gereniaceae) ( Wagenknecht 1970).
