Hurd & Linsley (1967) provided a complete description of both sexes of this species, including taxonomical notes, floral and distributional records (see additional information in Urban et al. 2007 and references herein.) There are records of this species from Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Chile (Region of Arica and Parinacota) ( Hurd & Linsley 1967; Urban et al. 2007).
