This species is distributed from central-southern Peru to central Bolivia, mainly in mountainous areas about 2600 meters above sea level. The description of this species was based on males collected in Tarata ( Peru), the same that were studied by Urban, along with other male specimens, in her revision of the species of Alloscirtetica published in 1971. In that paper, she reported males of this species in Bolivia, although the females had never been observed. During travels in northern Chile in 2000, Laurence Packer (York University, Canada) collected males and females of A. weyrauchi in Zapahuira (Region of Arica and Parinacota). These are the first records of this species from Chile ( Fig. 11 View FIGURE 11 ). As the female of this species remained unknown until now, a description is given here to permit its identification.

Female ( Figs. 7–8 View FIGURES 7 – 10 )

Dimensions: Approximate body length: 9.29; head width: 3.28; forewing length: 6.71; length of F1: 0.37; length of F2: 0.15; length of F3: 0.14. Coloration: black, with distarsi, claws, veins, tegula and pygidial plate dark brown. Punctation: thick and dense on clypeus, forming vertical lines in the distal half. Labrum with finer and less dense punctation. Paraocular and oceloorbital areas with fine and dense punctation. Mesoscutum with fine and scattered punctation, being denser and thicker on scutellum and mesepisternum. Propodeum areolated and with similar punctation of scutellum. Terga with smooth and narrow distal band; the rest of the plate with fine and dense punctation. T1 with a transversal carina marking the anterior decline of the tergum. Sterna with slightly denser punctation than of terga, and with a distal smooth and yellowish translucent band. Pilosity: white on gena and mesepisternum; the rest of the head and mesosoma with yellowish hairs. Legs with brown pilosity, slightly darker in the hindlegs. T1 with long and yellowish pilosity in the anterior half, being shorter in the other terga. T2 to T4 with distal band of short pilosity, widely interrupted on T2. T5 with similar pilosity to the other terga, except for a spot of dark brown hairs in the distal half. T6 completely covered with dark brown pilosity. Structure: Eyes divergent above. Mandible thick and short, with rounded apex and without subapical tooth. Tibial spur of middle legs slightly angled at the base and with apex straight. Hind tibiae with apically curved spurs. Basitibial plate rounded, flat and opaque; pygidial plate broad and with rounded apex.
