Ecology: FT, ST
Distribution: PA, NA, NT, AU
Habitat: ES, SL
Comments: The cosmopolitan distribution of this species, commonly known in the literature as Neanthes succinea , is the result of deliberate introduction into inland saline lakes for aquaculture food (North America and?Europe) and accidental introduction from shipping (southern hemisphere). Reports of this species in the ponto-caspian region need to be verified as there is confusion in the literature between this species and Hediste diversicolor .
