Ecology: FT
Distribution: NT, OL, AU, PAC
Habitat: ES
Comments: The cosmopolitan distribution of this species suggests that multiple species have been reported under this name. Accordingly, it was designated as a species group by Glasby (1999). In northern Australia the species can survive for several weeks in tap water (CJG pers. obs.). Additional references: Rullier (1957), Wesenberg-Lund (1958), Glasby et al. (1998), Misra (1999; as N. meraukensis (Horst))
