1. Vinicia tomentosa Dematteis (2007: 260) View in CoL . Type:— BRAZIL. Minas Gerais: Joaquim Felício, Serra do Cabral, estrada Joaquim Felício– Várzea de Palma GoogleMaps , ca. 10 km de Joaquim Felício, 17º42’33’’S, 44º11’29’’W, 900 m, 9 July 2001, V.C. Souza et al. 25483 (holotype: ESA [ ESA073734 About ESA ]; isotypes: BHCB [not seen], K e! [ K00084726 ]) .
Distribution and habitat: — Brazil (Minas Gerais, endemic to the Serra do Cabral). Campo rupestre.
Taxonomic notes: — A species known only from the type collection. Easily recognized by its thin chartaceous leaves and panicles of glomerules .
More studies are necessary to accommodate the following species in the generic concepts proposed in the present synopsis or in new genera. Even though some of these species were included in phylogenetic analyses ( Eremanthus crotonoides and Lychnophora damazioi ) ( Loeuille et al. 2015b), the results were poorly resolved as follows: (1) Eremanthus crotonoides emerged as an isolated lineage and (2) a more complete taxonomic sampling is necessary for Lychnophora damazioi . In order to avoid unecessary new combinations and/or to create new monotypic genera, these species are kept unplaced in the subtribe and shall wait for further evidence.
