Distribution and habitat: — Brazil ( Bahia , Minas Gerais). Campo rupestre; 850–1250 m.
Taxonomic Notes: —A rarely collected species. Easily recognized by its weakly imbricate caducous phyllaries, and fimbrillate receptacle.
