Type locality: Southern Europe.
Distribution: Asia minor, Southern Europe, North Africa ( Fontana et al. 2002). Biogeographic zones: Tellian Atlas, High Plateaux, Northern Sahara. Bioclimatic zones: Humid, subhumid, semiarid, saharian.
Records in Algeria: Chabet el Ameur [6°38'N 3°41'E] ( Finot 1896). Saïda [34°49'N 0°9'E] ( Krauss and Vosseler 1896). Sébaou [36°43'N 4°04'E]; Siouf [33°19'N 6°52'E]; Belezma [35°32'N 5°55'E] ( Chopard 1943).
