Type locality: Sicily.
Distribution: South of the Mediterranean region, from Sicily in the North to Niger in the South ( Chopard 1943).
Biogeographic zones: Shoreline, Tellian Atlas, Saharian Atlas, Northern Sahara, Central Sahara. Bioclimatic zones: Humid, subhumid, arid, saharian.
