Type locality: Spain, Granada and Malaga.
Distribution: Iberian Peninsula, Sicily, North Africa up to Industan ( Gorochov and Llorente 2001). Biogeographic zones: Shoreline, Saharian Atlas, Northern Sahara, Central Sahara. Bioclimatic zones: Subhumid, semiarid, arid, saharian.
Records in Algeria: Palmgrove in Ghardaia [32°28'N 3°40'E] ( Krauss 1902). Oued Mya [31°46'N 5°20'E] ( Bolivar 1913). Misserghine [35°36'N 0°44'W]; Laghouat [33°48’N 2°52’E] ( Chopard 1943). Si Mustapha [36°43'N 3°36'E] (Mohamed Sahnoun pers. obs.).
