Acheta longicauda Rambur, 1839: 34 .
Type locality: Spain, surroundings of Malaga.
Distribution: Spain, Morocco, Canary Islands (?) ( Chopard 1943; Gorochov and Llorente 2001). Biogeographic zones: Tellian Atlas, Saharian Atlas.
Bioclimatic zones: Humid, semiarid.
Records in Algeria: According to Chopard (1943), this species, known from Andalousia only, would be present in Morocco and perhaps Algeria. Its presence has actually been confirmed at Senalba-Chergui [34°39'N 3°11'E] ( Ferarsa 1994) and at Beni Ghobri [36°45'N 4°7'E] ( Hiddouche and Amari 2003). It was mentioned from Koudiat Ati [36°21'N 6°36'E] in the surroundings of Constantine by Lucas (1849).
