COPESTYLUM PACHECOI (CURRAN, 1939) View in CoL
Puparium: Anterior fold without extra large spicules. Anterior spiracles with three openings. Anterodorsal margin of metathorax with some spicules. Abdominal vestiture of long, fine setae. Anal lobe with spicules. Posterior breathing tube orange, not tapering. AP smooth and shiny and about 1.2¥ as long as TR is wide. Pupal spiracles orange, matt, shining apically, and with three encircling rings of openings in upper half. Pupal spiracles about 1.5¥ as wide apart as a pupal spiracle is long.
Taxonomic notes: Copestylum pachecoi is similar to those Pictum group species with a nontapering posterior breathing tube. It differs from these species in having spicules and broad setae on the anterodorsal margin of the metathorax.
Material examined: 7 ♀, seven puparia MEXICO Chiapas, Mazapa de Madero , 850 m, 23–25.vi.2004, ex Opuntia cactus, M. A. M. and C. P. B. ( CIBIO) .
