Published records. Kertész (1890, 1901), Horváth (1897, 1898), Soós (1959), BucȘa (1972), Jansson (1986, in map), Kecskés (1997, 1999), Ilie (2001), Ilie & Davideanu (2002), Berchi et al. (2011).

General distribution. From most of Europe, eastward to western and central Siberia ( Jansson 1986, 1995; Putshkov & Putshkov 1996; Kanyukova et al. 2002, 2016; Boda et al. 2015; Protić 2016; Shapovalov et al. 2018b; Protić & Nadaždin 2019; Derjanschi & Chiriac 2020; Šeat & Nadaždin 2021). In Romania, this species seems to occur only in the central, western and northwestern parts of the country ( Fig. 23 View FIGURES 22–28 ).

Remarks. The old records of Sigara falleni from east and south of the Romanian Carpathians (extra-Carpathian area) (i.e., Montandon 1907; Jaczewski 1934; Popescu-Gorj & Costea 1961; Kis 1972, 1976; Schneider 1973) were published before the description of S. iactans Jansson, 1983 ; these records instead belong to S. iactans .
