Type host: Ciconia ciconia (Linnaeus) ( Ciconiiformes : Ciconiidae ). Type locality: Russia.

FEMALE (2 paratypes). Total body length 620–680. Gnathosoma . Infracapitulum desely punctate. Lateral hypostomal teeth clearly visible and strongly sclerotized. Each medial branch of peritremes with 5–6 chambers, each lateral branch with 10–11 chambers. Stylophore punctate, 200–210 long. Movable cheliceral digit 170 long. Idiosoma . Propodonotal shield well sclerotized and punctate, slightly concave on anterior and posterior margins. Length ratio of setae vi:ve:si 1:1:1. Bases of setae c1 and se situated at same transverse level. Dorsal idiosomal setae except terminal setae f1, f2, h1 and h2, strongly beaded. Hysteronotal shield fused to pygidial shield, punctate anteriorly and posteriorly, bearing bases of setae d1 and terminal setae. Setae f1 and h1 subequal in length. Length ratio of setae ag1:ag2 1:1.0–1.3. Genital setae subequal in length, both about 3 times longer than pseudanal setae Coxal fields I–IV densely punctate. Setae 3b 1.3–1.5 times shorter than 3c. Legs. Fan-like setae p’ and p” with 11– 13 tines. Setae tc”III–IV about twice as long as tc’III–IV. Particular podomers of legs I–IV punctate. Lengths of setae: vi 60–80, ve 60–80, si 60–80, se 160–170, c1 145–155, c2 170–200, d1 95–100, d2 115–140, e2 105–140, f1 30–35, f2 320–330, h1 30–35, h2 580, ps1 and ps2 15–20, g1 50–60, g2 45–55, ag1 145–170, ag2 170–195, ag3 270–305, 3b 90–105, 3c 120–155, tc’III–IV 30–40, tc”III–IV 80, l’RIII 85–100, l’RIV 65–75.

Type material examined. Ciconia ciconia (Linnaeus) ( Ciconiiformes : Ciconiidae ): 2 female paratypes; RUS- SIA, Novogrod Prov. , Oskuy vill., 15 July 1999, coll. S.V. Mironov.

Type material deposition. All material deposited in the ZISP .

Non-type material examined. Type host species: 6 females ( AMU –SYR.86) (cov.) ; POLAND, Wielkopolskie, ZOO-Poznan, February 2004, coll. M. Skoracki. Material deposited in the AMU .

Host range and habitat. Monoxenous species inhabiting quills of coverts of Ciconia ciconia .

Distribution. Poland and Russia.
