Type host: Lonchura punctulata (Linnaeus) ( Passeriformes : Estrildidae ). Type locality: China.

Description. FEMALE (holotype). Total body length 415 (405–435 in 2 paratypes). Gnathosoma . Infracapitulum apunctate. Each medial branch of peritremes with 1–2 chambers, each lateral branch with 5–6 chambers. Length of apunctate stylophore and movable cheliceral digit 115 (115–125) and 75 (75) respectively. Idiosoma . Propodonotal shield punctate, constricted posteriorly, bearing bases of setae ve, si and c1. Length ratio of setae ve: si 1:1. Setae se situated slightly anterior to level of setae c1. Setae c1 not significant (1.1 times) longer than se. Length ratio of setae d2: c1 1:1.1–1.4. Hysteronotal shield absent. Setae d1 located half as far to d2 than to e2. Pygidial shield apunctate. Setae f2 about 4.5–6 times longer than f1. Aggenital setae ag1 and ag2 subequal in length or setae ag2 slightly (1.2 times) shorter than ag1, both about half length of ag3. Setae g2 1.5–1.7 times longer than g1. Genital plate absent. All coxal fields punctate. Setae 3c 1.3–1.5 times longer than 3b. Legs. Fan-like setae p’ and p” of legs III and IV with 6 tines. Setae tc”III–IV 1.3 times longer than and tc’III–IV. Lengths of setae: ve 20 (20), si 20 (20), se 135 (125–135), c1 150 (135–145), c2 125 (125–130), d1 (20), d2 135 (90–130), e2 90 (80–100), f1 15 (15–20), f2 95 (90–95), h1 20 (20), h2 275, ps1 20 (15–20), g1 12 (12–15), g2 20 (20–25), ag1 (50–60), ag2 (40–55), ag3 95 (90–95), tc’III–IV 35 (25–30), tc”III–IV 45 (30–40), 3b 20 (20), 3c 30 (25), l’RIII 25 (25), l’RIV (15).

MALE. Unknown.

Type material. Lonchura punctulata (Linnaeus) ( Passeriformes : Estrildidae ): female holotype and 2 female paratypes ( AMU –SYR.245) (bod.); CHINA, no other data. Host specimen deposited in the MNHW.

Type depository. All specimens of type material deposited in the UAM.

Host range and habitat. Monoxenous species occupying quills of body feathers of Lonchura punctulata .

Distribution. China.

Etymology. The name lonchurus refers to the generic name of the host.
