Type host: Anthus trivialis (Linnaeus) ( Passeriformes : Motacillidae ). Type locality: Poland.

FEMALE (holotype and 10 female paratypes). Total body length 1190–1230. Gnathosoma . Infracapitulum apunctate. Hypostomal apex with pair of short and sharp-ended protuberances. Each medial branch of peritremes with 4– 6 chambers, each lateral branch with 11–15 chambers. Length of apunctate stylophore and movable cheliceral digit 235 and 195–205 respectively. Idiosoma . Propodonotal shield sculptured and punctate near bases of setae ve and si, bearing bases of setae vi, ve, si and c1, setae se set on or near this shield. Length ratio of setae vi:ve:si 1:1.8–2:3.5. Setae se and c1 situated at same transverse level. Hysteronotal shields present, apunctate. Shape and size of pygidial shield variable, punctate, Setae f1, f2, h1 and h2 subequal in length. Genital and aggenital setae subequal in length. Coxal fields I–IV punctate. Setae 3c 1.6–1.7 times longer than 3b. Legs. Fan-like setae p’ and p” of legs III and IV with 12–14 tines. Setae tc” of legs III and IV 1.3–1.4 times longer than tc’III–IV. Apodemes I fused to apodemes II in anterior part of apodemes II. Lengths of setae: vi 125–140, ve 235–250, si 425–480, se 450–460, c1 425–470, c2 450–470, d1 450, d2 420–470, e2 430–445, f1 445–480, f2 470–510, h1 470–490, h2 510, ps1 and ps2 55, g1 260, g2 295–305, ag1 250–255, ag2 290–300, ag3 305–355, l’RIII 65–75, l’RIV 65–80, tc’III–IV 80, tc”III– IV 105–110, 3b 145–170, 3c 240–270.

MALE (3 paratypes). Total body length 830–870. Hypostomal apex with pair of small, blunt-ended protuberances. Each medial branch of peritremes with 4–6 chambers, each lateral branch with 7–9 chambers. Idiosoma . Propodonotal shield weakly sclerotized, apunctate, lightly sculptured. Length ratio of setae vi:ve:si 1:1:4. Hysteronotal shield fused to pygidial shield, apunctate, rounded on anterior margin. Setae d1, d2 and e2 subequal or setae d2 slightly (1.2 times) longer than d1 and e2. Setae h2 about 7–8 times longer than f2. Coxal fields I–IV apunctate. Setae 3c 1.4 times longer than 3b. Legs. Fan-like setae p’ and p” of legs III and IV with 9–11 tines. Setae tc” of legs III and IV 1.3 times longer than tc’III–IV. Lengths of setae: vi 40–50, ve 50, si 160–200, se 225, c1 210, c2 170–235, d1 40, d2 40–60, e2 35 –40, h2 250–270, f2 35, l’RIII 50–55, l’RIV 45–50, tc’III–IV 50–55, tc”III–IV 65– 70, 3b 75–90, 3c 105.

Type material examined. Anthus trivialis (Linnaeus) ( Passeriformes : Motacillidae ): female holotype and paratypes: 31 females, 3 males, 27 nymphs and 11 larvae ( AMU –SYR.29) (sec.); POLAND, Zachodniopomorskie, Darlowko Wschodnie , 11 May 1999, coll. M. Skoracki, W. Busse.

Type material deposition. All type material deposited in the AMU, except 2 female paratypes in the ZISP .

Non-type material examined. Type host species: 2 females; RUSSIA, Novogrod Prov. Oskuy vill., 21 August 1999, coll. A.V. Bochkov. Material deposited in the ZISP .

Host range and habitat. Monoxenous species inhabiting quills of secondaries of Anthus trivialis .

Distribution. Poland and Russia.
