Type species: Corvitorotroglus alpha Skoracki and Bochkov, 2010 by original designation.

Diagnosis. FEMALE: Relatively medium or large quill mites (total body length 890–930). Gnathosoma . Hypostomal apex ornamented with pair of bill-like protuberances. Two pairs of hypostomal lips present. Lateral hypostomal teeth absent. Movable cheliceral digit harpoon-like, each with 3 teeth. Peritremes M-shaped with clearly visible chambers in each branch. Stylophore constricted posteriorly. Idiosoma . All idiosomal setae smooth. Propodonotal shield entire, without pocket-like structures, bearing bases of setae vi, ve, si and c1. Setal pattern of propodonotal region with 6 pairs of setae arranged 3–2–1. Hysteronotal shield fused to pygidial shield, varriable in shape. Setae d1, d2, e2, f2 and h2 long, f1 and h1 short. Genital and pseudanal series with 2 pairs of setae. Aggenital series with 5–6 pairs of setae. Legs. Legs I-IV subequal in thickness. Apodemes I divergent, fused to apodemes II, both apodemes different in size and shape. Legs with full complement of setae. Antaxial and paraxial members of claw pair subequal in size and shape, basal angles absent.

MALE. Characters as in females except: total body length 820; movable cheliceral digit edentate; setae d1 and e2 short; setae f2 short, setae h2 long; apodemes I and II similar in shape and size.

Host range. This genus is associated with passeriform birds of the family Corvidae .

Habitat. Unknown.

Remark. Only type species C. alpha .
