Genus Engytatus Reuter View in CoL View at ENA
Engytatus Reuter, 1876: 82 View in CoL . Type species: Engytatus geniculatus Reuter, 1876 View in CoL ; preoccupied, next available name Neosilia modesta Distant, 1893 View in CoL . Monotypic.
Diagnosis. Eyes located laterally at middle of head; calli indistinct or weakly delimited; pygophore with lateral tubercle on right side.
Discussion. Two species are known from Minas Gerais. Although Carvalho (1947b) reported Engytatus varians from Brazil, neither Carvalho (1958) nor Schuh (1995) listed it. Cassis (1984) restored Engytatus to generic rank, an action followed by Schuh (1995).
