Sinervus baerensprungi Stål, 1860: 56 View in CoL (orig. descrip.).
Diagnosis. General color shiny black. Hemelytra whitish or yellowish; base, commissure and apex of clavus black; median transverse stripe on corium reaching embolium; cuneus, veins, and base of membrane black. Length 3.50– 4.00 mm.
Host. Heliconia psitacorum Sessé and Moç. [ Musaceae ] ( Ferreira et al., 2001).
Distribution. Brazil (Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro) (Carvalho, 1957).
Minas Gerais specimens examined. 1 Ψ, no specific locality, June 1944, Carvalho, nº 584 ( UFVB); 5 ɗɗ, Viçosa, 1947, J. C. M. Carvalho ( USNM); 1 ɗ Carmo R. Claro, 1947, J. C. M. Carvalho ( USNM); 2 ɗɗ, 4 ΨΨ, Carmo R. Claro, Jan. 1958, Carvalho and Becker ( USNM); 11 ΨΨ, Araponga Reserva da Serra do Brigadeiro, 4–5 Mar. 1993, T. J. Henry and P. S. Fiuza Ferreira, taken on underside of aroid ( Heliconia sp.?) leaves ( USNM).
