Alexander, 1945a: 243–245 (original description); (as Tanypremna ). Type locality: Brazil, São Paulo, Juquiá. Holotype female with labels: (1) handwritten on white paper: “ Brazil | Sao Paulo | Juquiá | 400m. | Nov. [November] 1940 | Travassos”; (2) printed with handwritten inscriptions on red paper: “ HOLOTYPE Ψ | Tanypremna | calliope | C. P. Alexander”.

Preservation: pinned. Missing parts: right antenna, left wing, left middle leg and hind legs.
