Described originally from two females taken in a leaf gall on Polyosma cunninghamii [ Grossulariaceae ] near Brisbane, Queensland, this thrips was found subsequently on the same plant species in rainforests at Lamington near the border with New South Wales. Some of the galls were a remarkable blue colour ( Fig. 6 View FIGURES 1–6 ), and the species is unusual within the genus in having a fore tarsal tooth, in both sexes.
