LITERATURE RECORDS: Katzmann 1973b; Casellato & Stefanon 2008; Castelli et al. 2008. REMARKS: According to the results of the phylogenetic analysis of the scale-worms performed by Norlinder et al. (2012), the previous family Pholoididae Fauchald, 1977 (including genus Pholoides Pruvot, 1895 ) is synonymyzed with the family Sigalionidae Malmgren, 1867 .
