DISTRIBUTION: SA.

LITERATURE RECORDS: Castelli et al. 2008; Giangrande & Licciano 2008. REMARKS: Alien species originated from the Red Sea (Lessepsian migrant) ( Zenetos et al. 2010). The only record of this species in the Mediterranean Sea is from the SA, along the coast of Apulia (Giangrande & Licciano 2008).

REMARKS: All previous records of Megalomma vesiculosum (Montagu, 1815) in the Mediterranean are now assigned to M. lanigera (Giangrande & Licciano 2008) .
