Ixodes malayensis Kohls, 1962 View in CoL
Ixodes malayensis View in CoL has only been recorded from the Cameron Highlands of peninsular Malaysia ( Kohls 1962). The only known host is the common tree shrew, Tupaia glis , which has a wide Oriental distribution ( Lekagul and McNeely 1977) and has often been sampled for ticks in other areas (e.g., Hoogstraal et al. 1968b, 1973b; Saito et al. 1971).
The female was described by Kohls (1962).
No known copyright restrictions apply. See Agosti, D., Egloff, W., 2009. Taxonomic information exchange and copyright: the Plazi approach. BMC Research Notes 2009, 2:53 for further explanation.
